DeAndre Jordan, a former Los Angeles Lakers center, cleared waivers on Thursday evening.
The veteran was picked up by the Philadelphia 76ers, as predicted.
Jordan was signed by the Sixers just a few hours after he officially became a free agent.
Jordan will be with the Sixers for the balance of the 2021-2022 NBA season, while the specifics of his new agreement with the organization were not published according to franchise rules.
The issue now is when Jordan will join the Sixers on a permanent basis.

The 76ers recalled rookie center Charles Bassey from the team’s G League club. the Delaware Blue Coats, after Jordan was injured on Friday and Willie Cauley-Stein was released from his ten-day agreement early.
Due, to Jordan’s absence and Cauley’s departure. Stein’s the Sixers will have to select between Bassey.
Paul Millsap, and Paul Reed to back up Joel Embiid on Friday night. Doc Rivers, the Sixers’ head coach, might go with one of the three big men or go with a committee of big men for the time being.
